Alfonso Herrera is one of the most recognised talents from Latin America. As an actor, Herrera always chooses memorable characters that challenge him, as well as stories that can transcend. In cinema, his participation in 'The Perfect Dictatorship' consolidated him as one of the best actors of his generation in Mexico and Latin America.
In 2020, he made his return to film with 'Dance of The 41' (El Baile de los 41), a film based on the taboo real story of 42 gay men who were caught in a raid in 1901 while performing a clandestine party in Mexico City. The film is making its international debut at Netflix in May 2021. On television, we can see his work in projects like Sense8, The Exorcist, Queen of the South and Sitiados.
He ́s currently filming “Ozark”, the critically acclaimed Netflix series which he joined as a main character for its fourth and final season. Herrera was recently named Goodwill Ambassador by UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, making him the first Mexican to join the ambassadors list, along names like Cate Blanchett, Ben Stiller, Kristin Davis and more.
